Willie Thomas Beller

Willie Thomas Beller, 84, of Noble died Saturday, Sept. 24, at Noble Health Care Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Goldsby Baptist Church with Jeremie, Rocky and Jamie Beller officiating. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery. Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell is handling arrangements.

Mr. Beller was born Aug. 11, 1921, in McClain County near Goldsby, the oldest of 10 children born to Luther Theodore Beller and Clementine Elizabeth Madden Beller. He grew up on a farm near Goldsby and attended Goldsby School. He married Leona Fay Hill April 8, 1939, in Blanchard. Shortly after, Mr. Beller joined the Navy. He served almost four years during World War II while stationed in the South Pacific. He was proud to serve the United States and was part of the Navy Seabees. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and began working in construction at Tinker Air Force Base. In 1952 he moved to near Rattan in southeast Oklahoma and began working for Curry Construction. After working for Curry 19 years he began working in Alaska in the early 1970s. While in Alaska Mr. Beller worked for many companies for 15 years. He retired in 1984 and began spending time with his family and his hobbies. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and tinkering around the house. Because of his and Leona's failing health, they moved to the McClain County area last year to be close to family. Family members thank Heartland Hospice of Norman for the loving care it gave Mr. Beller.

Mr. Beller was preceded in death by his wife Leona Fay Beller; brothers Paulie Beller, Isaac Beller and Calvin Beller; and sister Viola Mayo.
