NORMAN — Joe Charles Webb, 61, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013. Joe was born May 15, 1952, in Wynnewood to the late Catherine and Charles Webb. He grew up in Norman and graduated from Norman High School in 1970. He received his B.S. in behavioral science from the University of Houston in Clear Lake, Texas. He married Mary Dee Meinzer in 1972.
Joe’s success in business took him throughout the United States and Europe. He also taught math and coached football in Alvin, Texas. He owned a successful restaurant in Marietta, Ga., and he was an outstanding auctioneer and real estate broker.
He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and The Scottish Rite. He had served as a member of the school board in Alvin, Texas, and was a former president of Sugarland Rotary.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Dee Webb of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Ashley Webb of Lubbock, Texas; a son, John Webb of Atlanta; and an aunt, Mary Helen Rose and husband Roy of Moore.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home in Childress, Texas.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home chapel, with Dr. J.M. Henderson officiating. Interment will be at Childress Cemetery in Childress.
