NORMAN — Longtime Moore resident Robert E. “Bob” Greenlee passed to the next life Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at the age of 87.
After being awarded a purple heart for wounds received in combat with the 10th Armored Division during WWII, he earned an accounting degree from OU and then worked for Sohio Petroleum Company and the HEW Audit Agency. After retirement, he taught reading as a volunteer for Central Elementary in Moore, for which he was named a “Friend of Education” by the Moore Association of Classroom Teachers. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Moore.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Opal, Louise, Joann and Wanda Jean’ and brother, Aaron.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; brother, Roy; sons Robby and Randell; grandson, Alex; step-granddaughters Sarah, Amanda, Linda and Britta; step-great-granddaughter, Ida; five nephews; three nieces; seven grandnephews; nine grandnieces; eight first cousins; and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation is at John Ireland Funeral Home in Moore.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Moore.
Services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home.
