Ralph James Swift, passed away Jan. 16, 2014, at the age of 75. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born to Doyle and Zelma in Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle and step-mother Joyce; his mother, Zelma and step-father Irvin Hicks.
He served in the Marines in the Philippines and Japan. He worked as a plumber until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan Swift; four sons, Jamie and wife Becky, Greg and wife Sherri, Ronny and wife Shelly and Randy and wife Amy; nine grandsons, Jake, Rodney, Timothy, Bryan, Aaron, Brandon, Michael, Samuel and Devon; five granddaughters, Mattie, Kaylee, Arik, Samantha and Kimberli; three great-grandchildren, Boyd, Leslie and Abigail; sister, Norma Turner and husband Eddie; brother, Johnny Hicks and wife Caroline; and an uncle, Raymond Swift.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at John M. Ireland Funeral Home chapel in Moore. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Truth Church, 2101 McKown Drive, in Norman.
