NORMAN — Blanche Marie Williams, 91, passed away and into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 20, 2010 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, OK. She was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on July 17, 1919 to Frank and Ibbie Bishop. She grew up in the Center Point Community outside of Wilburton. Blanche graduated from Wilburton High School in 1937 and later received her Cosmetology License in Oklahoma City. She married George T. (“Snap”) Williams on June 23, 1941 and together, they had four boys.

Nothing gave her more joy than raising her boys and later, spending time with her grandchildren. For many years she worked out of their home at Blanche’s Beauty Shop. She attended Center Point Baptist Church where she was a member for over 80 years and was also a long-time member of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Snap, her parents, and 5 siblings including Danny Bishop. She is survived by her sisters, Buena Ray and June Kitchens, her sisters-in-law, Norma Dean McGee and Cledah Tanguay and by her sons, Mickey Williams and his wife Chere’ and their children Cody Williams and Casidy and husband Zac Abbot; Dr. Ron Williams and his wife Amy and their children Shea and husband Sam Tippens, Shannon and her husband Steve Ho, Kyle Jones and wife, Amanda, and Brady Williams; Bob Williams and his wife Patti and their children Andrea and husband Scott Chaffin, Kristen and husband Derek Rosenberg; Steve Williams and his wife Lea Ann and their children, Lauren and husband Mike Weatherholt and Jordan Williams. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Jaycie and Kalli Tippens, Sullivan Ho, Drake Chaffin, Dylan Rosenberg, Eli and Nora Jane Weatherholt.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Center Point Baptist Church, Wilburton, OK with Pastor Doug Miller officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Wilburton, OK under the direction of Jones – Harkins Funeral Home of Wilburton, OK. Memorial gifts may be made to Center Point Baptist Church.
