Gordon Jewel Madden

NORMAN — Gordon Jewel Madden, 70, of Washington passed away on May 3, 2013 in Norman.

Jewel was born in Washington, Okla. on Sept. 12, 1942. He graduated from Washington High School and then served our country as a member of the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at York International in Norman and was an avid coach and sports enthusiast.

Jewel was married to Kathleen Kitching Madden on Aug. 9, 1968. They remained married until Kathy’s death in 1999.

Jewel was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Madden; father, James Madden; mother, Celesta Madden; brothers, Joel Nathaniel Madden, James Junior Madden, Carl Paulie Madden; and sisters, Betty Jean Smith, Norma Jean Mallory, Barbara Ann Madden and Flora Mae Ward.

He is survived by two sons, Christopher and Justin; daughters-in-law, Angela Madden and Katie Paukei; three grandchildren, Tanner Madden, Gabriel Williams and Blakely Madden; two sisters, Mildred Ruth Allison and Wanda Lee Borquin; one brother Freddie Daniel Madden; and many nieces and nephews.

Jewel is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Madden; father, James Madden; mother, Celesta Madden; brothers, Joel Nathaniel Madden, James Junior Madden, Carl Paulie Madden; and sisters, Betty Jean Smith, Norma Jean Mallory, Barbara Ann Madden and Flora Mae Ward.

Visitation will be today at Primrose. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow the funeral at IOOF Cemetery.

Jewel was much loved and will be greatly missed by all. We love you, Pop.
