NORMAN — Velma Mae Wells, 79, of Norman, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Oklahoma City.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m.,Saturday at the Norman IOOF Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Primrose Funeral Service.
Velma was born on May 1, 1934, in Tonkawa to Roy and Grace (Carney) Martin. She grew up and received her education in the Tonkawa area. She married Gene Wells on Oct. 6, 1952, in Tonkawa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, and two sisters, Beulah Moulton and Shirley Holderman.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debra McCarty and her husband Larry of Norman and Pamela Wells of Norman; two grandsons, Michael McCarty and his wife Carisa of Norman and Kevin McCarty of Norman; one great-granddaughter, Shianne McCarty; two brothers, Don Martin and Bill Martin and his wife Susan; two sisters, Lois Klusmeyer and her husband Jerry and Barbara Kuehl and husband Darrell, and her two dogs Buffy and Joey.
