Larry Nelson

NORMAN — Services for Larry Nelson, 57, of Norman, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Larry passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Norman.

He was born Jan. 24, 1956, to Evan and Dolores Nelson at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He grew up on military bases, and his favorite was Homestead Air Force Base in Florida, where he was a scuba diver and DeMolay.

He made his career as a welder and commercial construction superintendent for W.L. McNatt & Company. Most recent construction projects were Norman’s Target, Johnnie’s Restaurant and Edmond North’s new gym. Foremost, he was a prankster and the life of the party.

Larry and his wife, Debbie, would have celebrated their 25 years of marriage on June 2. She was the love of his life and took great care of him.

Larry is survived by his wife and parents; his children Johnny Nelson and wife Daysha, Randy McCoy and wife Amanda, Kristi McCoy and Wendy Pool; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Carrie Baker and husband Ken; nephew, Derrick Nelson; niece, Erica Maynord; and his beloved dog, Bo.

Rest in peace, Larry. We will see you again.

The family has suggested the American Cancer Society or Integris Hospice of Oklahoma as appropriate for memorial contributions.

Services for Mr. Nelson have been entrusted to the care of Primrose Funeral Service.
