Greg Hayes

NORMAN — Greg Hayes, age 49, of Washington, died Friday, May 18, 2012. Gregory Wilson Hayes was born July 21, 1962, in Wurzburg, Germany, the oldest of three children born to Harold Ray Hayes and Joann (Andrews) Hayes.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Goldsby Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery.

He was raised in Washington and attended Washington schools, graduating in 1980. Greg found true love, and on July 10, 1981, he married Denise Kay Jeffries. They made their home in Woodward for a short time before settling back in Washington to raise their family: son, Christopher and daughter, Kayla. Greg later attended the Draughn Business School, where he earned an associate’s degree in business. Greg started his own company, Oklahoma Playgrounds. For the past 14 years, he and Denise have owned and operated their store in Edmond. Greg worked hard to be a good provider, and he loved and cherished his family. He had an infectious smile and you could always count on him. He was a wonderful husband and father, son, brother, uncle and a good friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Greg leaves behind his wife, Denise Hayes of the home; his son, Christopher Ray Hayes of Goldsby; his daughter, Kayla Brooke Hayes of Washington; his parents, Harold and Joann Hayes of Washington; his brother, Doug Hayes and wife Marti of Washington; his sister, Renae Green and husband John of Washington; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lewie and Charlotte Jeffries of Goldsby; and three sisters-in-law, Kim Mitchell and husband Mark of Norman, Robin Nipper and husband Craig of Norman and Peggy Smith and husband Joe of Jones;

Greg also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and many other loving family and friends.

Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
