Gregory A. Dyer

NORMAN — Gregory A. Dyer, 65, of Norman, passed away in Norman on May 23, 2013. He was born to Harold D. and Marilyn Dyer on July 3, 1947, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

He was a 1965 graduate of Midwest City High School. He served four years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman for 31 years and then, after retiring from the hospital, became the treasurer for Friends Credit Union for 18 years.

He married Marsha Barton on Oct. 21, 1973. They resided in and around Norman for their entire marriage.

He was an avid fisherman and loved to have barbeque parties at his house every summer.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Harold Dyer.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marsha Dyer; his mother, Marilyn Dyer of Midwest City; his daughter, Andrea York and her husband Tony of Norman; grandson, Dillon York of Norman; three sisters, Pam Cheyney and her husband Fred of Puyallup, Wash., Sheryl Botts and her husband Brent of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Janet Davis and her husband Terry of Fallbrook, Calif.
