NORMAN — David Leslie Hobaugh, 62, departed this life on May 21, 2013, in Midwest City. Mr. Hobaugh was born to John and Effie (Mayhew) Hobaugh on Nov. 10, 1950, in Oklahoma City.
David lived in Martinez, Calif. with his father, John P. Crawford and mother. He graduated from Alahmbra High School in Martinez, Calif. and made his home in the Noble and Norman area in 1974, before moving to Shawnee.
He entered the Marines on Dec. 10, 1970, and received the rank of Corporal. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Medal with Combat Air Crew Wings.
He received an honorable discharge on Sept. 9, 1974. He then retired from the Air National Guard as a loadmaster for C-130’s.
He was employed with Shaklee Corp. before his retirement.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his father, mother, Effie and step-father John P. Crawford; three sisters, Sue Hadden, Mary Jane Montgomery and Geneva Lacy; and one brother, Johnny Ray Hobaugh.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa and husband Nathan Lansford of Norman; four brothers, Ralph, Albert, Wendell and Hershall Hobaugh; one sister, Betty Hobaugh; two grandchildren, Emma and Olivia and a 3rd on the way; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Blackburn Cemetery in Norman. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 7 p.m., directed by McMahans Funeral Home.
