NORMAN — Lauren “LaLa” Nicole Halliburton, of Norman, age 22, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013. She was born April 5, 1991, in Midwest City. Lauren graduated from Norman North High School and attended Oklahoma City Community College.

A memorial service will 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Havenbrook Funeral Home. A celebration of life and balloon release will be 7 p.m. that same evening at Springbrook Park in Norman.

Those who knew Lauren were blessed with knowing a truly unique soul, kind heart and unforgettable free spirit. She had a child-like personality and was drawn to all things dreamy and whimsical. A promoter of peace and love, Lauren was known for her compassion and non-judgmental ways. She found good in everyone she met and often talked about her wishes for a time when everyone would be truly equal.

Lauren loved to read and get swept away in the fantasy of far-away places. She was very artistic and painted beautiful murals. She loved music of all kinds and wrote many songs and poems. She was known for her quirky personality, flamboyant style and clever phrases and nicknames she lovingly bestowed upon friends and family.

Lauren’s legacy will live on through her beautiful son, Jude “Judel-Bug” Carson Halliburton. She loved him with everything she had.

Lauren was preceded in death by her grandmother, Marilyn Walters, and great-grandfather, Edward Janesic.

Lauren is also survived by her mother, Jessica Fisher; her father, Marc Halliburton; and stepfather, Laird Fisher; her sister, Shaylin Halliburton; her stepbrother, Stefan Fisher; stepsisters Erin Fisher and Devin Fisher; Jude’s father, Dustin Phillips; her grandparents Paula and Rod McKinley, James Walters and Larry Bledsoe; her great-grandparents Clarice “Sue” Janesic, Ann and Max Bledsoe and Mary Testerman; her aunts and uncles Jodi and Josh Hodge, Jennifer Bledsoe, LeighAnn Walters, Jaime Walters, Ryan Walters, Rodney McKinley and Scott McKinley; many great-aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and her best friend, Sammantha Herrera.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Jude’s college fund by contacting the family directly.

Arrangements for Lauren and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
