NORMAN — Sierra Nicole Gabrels drifted to heaven in Norman on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. She was loved by more people than there are stars in the heavens.
Sierra was bubbly, bright and beautiful. Her smile and laughter could light up every room and every situation. She loved to encourage everyone. She loved cheerleading and tumbling. She also loved to dance and sing. Sierra was a beautiful, classy young woman. She always made sure that her makeup and clothes were perfect. She made her appearance at 8 a.m. June 19, 1996, to Guinnevere Eden Hilmes and Matthew Todd Gabrels.
Sierra had many people who took part in helping raise her: her stepdad, John David Hilmes; her papa, David R. Geyer and wife Kathy; grandma, Nikki McCarthy; uncle, David and wife Denise Geyer of Weatherford; and aunt, Heather and husband Tim Ward of Clarksville, Tenn.
She is survived by her mother, Guinnevere Hilmes; sister, Haley Hilmes; brothers Patrick Geyer and Christopher Gabrels; papa, John Hilmes; and many more who we can’t even begin to list.
She will be missed by countless members of her extended family and friends. Don’t be sad for Sierra. She is back in her daddy’s loving arms.
She was preceded in death by her father, Matthew Todd Gabrels; and her grandmother, Judy Strickland.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving guests from 4 to 6 p.m. at Moore Funeral home chapel.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Journey Church in Norman. She will be laid to rest privately at Ray Cemetery in Shawnee.
There is a memorial fund set up at Bank of Oklahoma in Sierra’s name. Contributions can be made at any branch. Condolences may be shared at MooreFuneralCremation.com.
