NORMAN — Carol J. Ford, 77, of Moore, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7. Carol was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 1, 1936. Carol loved her cats and being outside, especially sitting in her swing. She was the “un-official” neighborhood watch president. She loved flowers and collecting knick-knacks. She never drove, but enjoyed walking everywhere. Carol was a very caring lady, which was obvious from her habit of sending cards and notes on every occasion, especially holidays.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Carolyn Staley and her husband Don, and Janice McClendon and husband Ronald. She was known as “Nana” to her granddaughter Sierra McClendon and step-granddaughter, Jennifer Garrett; and “Nanners” to great grandchildren Destinee, Cayden and Gabby; and sister to Rita and Sharon of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Ford.
Family will be receiving guests from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the John Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S Broadway in Moore. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 11 at Sunnylane Cemetery, SW 29th and Sunnylane. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore.
