Rocky Joe Beller

NORMAN — Rocky Joe Beller, 47, of Goldsby passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, in Chickasha.

A double funeral service for Rocky and his cousin, Scott Beller, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Moore. A private family interment in Washington Cemetery will follow the services. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.

Rocky was born on Feb. 22, 1964, in Norman. He was the second of child of four children born to Robert Lee Beller and Dorothy Lou (Hyde) Beller.

Rocky grew up in the Goldsby and Washington communities. He attended the Washington schools and graduated with the class of 1982. While in school he played football and was in FFA.

On Feb. 26, 1982, in Goldsby, Rocky married Dawn Shipley. Together they raised three children and made their home in Goldsby. Rocky was an active member of the Goldsby Baptist Church since 1995 and a deacon since 2003. In 2005, Rocky and his brothers started a Christian ministry called Grace in the Trenches.

He was an avid Washington High School sports fan and athletic booster. After graduation he started working for his father at B&H Construction and recently became co-owner of the business with his two brothers.

Rocky had many hobbies throughout his life, he enjoyed riding horses, fishing and doing water sports, going to Washington and University of Oklahoma sporting events. His latest hobbies were flying and cars.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Lee Beller.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Beller of the home; parents, Robert and Dorothy Beller of Goldsby; three children, Brad Beller and wife Kami of Goldsby, Brian Beller of Goldsby, and Brandi Beller of the home; two grandchildren, Kelby and Briley Beller; two brothers, Donnie Beller and wife Connie of Goldsby and Ronnie Beller and wife Kelli of Goldsby; mother-in-law, Carolyn Hyde and husband Curtis of Washington; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Washington High School Athletic Department.
