Plenty of good parking ahead The Norman Transcript There were plenty of parking spaces at Andrews Park Friday morning. Most of those who gathered to celebrate national "Bike to Work Day" came on two wheels.
About 50 pedalers enjoyed beautiful biking weather. Mayor Cindy Rosenthal, arriving on two wheels, greeted the crowd. It's the third Bike to Work Day rally held at the park. Norman is trying to position itself as the state's healthiest community and strives to be bike friendly. It's easy to get around with numerous sidewalks, trails and campus cut-throughs. At the morning rally, the mayor was presented with a commendation from Gov. Brad Henry. The governor took note of the mayor's activities aimed at making Norman a healthy community. "This is about the health of our community," the mayor said. "It can only get better."
