One thing in common

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

When someone asks to purchase one of my wildlife photos, it pleases me to no end. To think that my hard work is appreciated enough to spend money on makes me very proud.

I don’t care what my customers’ beliefs are, that’s none of my business. The fact that this person likes photos of beautiful birds or other animals shows me that they have something in common with me.

It would be the same if I was a wedding cake baker. To think that a couple would ask me to make a cake for them to celebrate one of the biggest events in their lives would be an honor.

If I had the ability to preside over a marriage of two people in love and they came to me to ask that I marry them, I would be deeply flattered that they had faith in me.

If people’s religious beliefs make them discriminate against their customers instead of taking pride in their work and being a professional, maybe they should get out of business and join the monastery.

I hope the hate-filled, right-wing religious fanatics are aware that it is they who have been tolerated.
