NORMAN — Norman is home to many “boomerangers.” It’s the term used for residents who once lived here and have now come back. The biggest number are former University of Oklahoma students who enjoyed their time here and want to return, usually in retirement years.
The city now has another draw. It is listed as the third most frugal city for retirees. Only Harlingen and McAllen, Texas, were ranked higher on the listing provided by MoneyRates.com.
MoneyRates looked at cost of living, taxes, home prices and other factors in determining its top 10 cities for frugal retirees. The proximity of OU with its academic, arts and athletic offerings are a bonus, too.
