Fourth quarter for UW

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — The Pacesetters fund drives are done, Celebrity Sing and Day of Caring are over, the Goal-O-Meters are inching up and the final weeks of Norman’s United Way campaign are upon us.

The $2.116 million drive will end with a victory luncheon Dec. 7. The Pacesetters report in late September was good news. The companies that normally had their drives early reached nearly $1.2 million. It was only the second time that the United Way had raised more than $1 million halfway into its fundraising season.

The annual drive raises money for social and human service agencies and programs. Many of the member agencies have year-end fund drives with their donors, often making the final push for United Way a tough one.

Donors can contact the United Way at 2424 Springer Drive, No. 304, Norman, OK 73069, through the website www.unitedwaynorman.org or by calling 329-2025.

In the football vernacular, it’s the fourth quarter. The goal is in sight, and it’s time to march down the field and score.
