Curbside mailbox demand unreasonable

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

On Wednesday we received a letter from the United States Postal Service stating that we have 17 working days (March 15, 2013) to move our mailbox from the front door of our home to the street or the mail for our address will be held at the main Postal Service office until we pick it up. We promptly went to a hardware store and purchased the necessary post and mailbox for the curb site. We are in the process of contracting a person to come and install it. We understand the need for the Postal Service to cut cost and we support that effort; however, giving the citizens of this community 17 working days to get it installed in the middle of winter is totally unreasonable. Someone in the federal, state and local levels of the Postal Service does not understand reality.
