NORMAN — Thanks to the rescuers and non-harmers.
The Norman area has several phenomenal organizations that work to rescue animals and provide them with sanctuary. These include Heartland Rabbit Rescue, Mindy’s Memory Primate Sanctuary and Wildcare Foundation. Each of those groups of folks have saved many lives and have alleviated suffering for our fellow Earthlings.
In the city of Norman, organizations like Hands Helping Paws and Second Chance Sanctuary have worked to save lives and reduce the suffering of cats and dogs. Many others have generously offered foster homes to animals with no home of their own. Thanks to you all.
Volunteers are always needed at each of these groups, and helping out can be a rich and rewarding experience. If you can’t volunteer, please support them with your donations. I may not have mentioned some worthwhile organizations, but a big thanks to any and all who have worked this past year to make life better for our fellow animals.
A big thanks, too, for all who were caring enough to spay/neuter their companion animals. Remember, animals are being killed because they are unwanted. No one should be “selling,” “buying” or “breeding” animals. Please adopt from your local animal rescues or shelters.
Thanks also goes to each and every person who has put forth the effort to not harm our fellow Earthlings. Those who avoid purchasing or using things that come from the imprisoning, exploiting and killing of animals have helped reduce the suffering and death in this world. We sometimes forget that a peaceful and non-violent world means not harming or exploiting other beings. Thank you to those who try to live their lives in this way. Remember, it is never too soon and it is never too late to stop harming others.
Happy New Year.
