Christmas Store makes appeal

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

Dear Christmas Store supporter:

For more than four decades, The Christmas Store of Cleveland County, an all-volunteer organization, has touched low-income families during the Christmas season. Annual fundraising for our activity for 2013 is taking place now through the end of this year.

Unfortunately, it appears that our results for this year may fall short of revenues anticipated. Therefore, this community appeal is to stimulate additional interest in our fundraising efforts. And our question is the same message as in previous years: Would you please consider making a contribution, no matter what the amount, as it would be considered a generous gift?

One of our supporters shared their philosophy of supporting the store, which went something like this: “What’s important in life and the things that will be remembered about you ... is not what you gather throughout your life but what you scatter” — and much of our faith in our fundraising efforts is based on a similar premise.  We are grateful for donors like yours and the memories you leave as you share the vision of what the Christmas Store is called to be during this season.

We thank you for your generosity. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. Our address is P.O. Box 256, Norman, OK 73070.
