NORMAN — Those area residents who applied for a shelter may still be in luck.
The American Red Cross this week announced that Norman and Cleveland County will each receive $520,000 to award for shelter grants.
Norman will go back to those who are already on the list and see if they are still in need of the shelter. Cleveland County will work off the list of residents with previous tornado damage.
Those folks will have priority. In both instances — Norman and Cleveland County — no calls are needed, officials said.
The money comes at a time when shelter business is booming. A CNHI Oklahoma story earlier this month suggested a two to three-month wait for shelter installation.
