Four more years of gridlock coming up

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

Response to David Morgan’s letter:

I must rebuff some of your letter to the editor, David.

I am proud that all 77 counties in Oklahoma twice voted against Obama. However, as we have an electoral college, our votes are meaningless.

You alluded to the Republican platform as extreme far right (true); however, the Democratic platform is extreme far left in D.C., which is the reason we have experienced four years of gridlock — a literal civil war between Republican controlled House and Democratic controlled Senate. Now, we will experience four more years of the same.

In this election a change of presidential leadership may have resulted in the opportunity to become independent of foreign oil as well as confront the trade deficit with China, reduce unemployment, bring both sides closer to the center to end the gridlock, discover the truth as to why our consulate in Benghazi was denied protection, reduce corporate taxes (the highest in the world), improve our relationship with Israel and repeal Obamacare.

As to the Bush war in Iraq, the Democratic controlled Senate could have voted no. I hope by 2016 both parties will have moved closer to the center.
