An ode to Spam-a-rama

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

A Jersey boy, I visited Norman a year ago and experienced firsthand the Spam-a-rama at The Deli, an event celebrated in your front page story last weekend. Unable to attend this year, I penned an elegy of sorts as a kind of mourning:

Spam-a-rama at the Deli bar’s up and gone: as always its aromatic offerings overpowered the senses whereupon the booze fused with the neon signs to “spamboozle” even those dreading the consequences of luncheon meat the oppressive heat, and an oddball proclivity towards creativity which, hallelujah, spawns unimpeachable martinis served in a distinctive true-blue crucible, the can of which the Spam began.
