NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:
Your minor peeve has taken a position as my major priority. The article in the Sunday Nov. 24 Transcript, regarding Mex the bulldog, made a great deal of sense to me. He was the Sooner guardian by keeping the field clear. He was a loyal Sooner with barks after touchdowns. Later Mex waited patiently at the railway station for the return of his team.
I am hopeful that we humans remain as guardians for one another, maintain loyalty to each other and exhibit patience should someone appear to leave another behind.
These golden attributes shown by Mex need to be remembered. I suggest a likeness of Mex be created in statue and placed near the statues of Oklahoma’s greatest that stand on the east side of the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and Lloyd Noble Center.
