NORMAN — It was no coincidence that Premier Hospitality timed the groundbreaking of its new 115-room Holiday Inn Express during National Tourism Week. The company operates 20 hotels.
The newest Premier property will be built in University North Park near the Embassy Suites Norman hotel and convention center, the site of numerous state and national conferences.
Norman has become a popular destination for mid-sized conferences. The NCED Hotel and Conference Center and the Embassy Suites can accommodate mid-sized to large conventions. The location of smaller, nearby properties gives convention attendees choices.
Construction is at a fast pace in University North Park. Dirtwork has begun on Legacy Park and large retail spaces are near completion towards the northern end of the project.
With the new Holiday Inn Express, Norman will have 29 hotels with 2,952 rooms to offer visitors. Those will fill up fast on OU football and commencement weekends, but are available year-round, as the mayor reminded guests at Wednesday’s groundbreaking.
