State and nation will suffer with Inhofe in office

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Editor, The Transcript:

Sen. Inhofe, Mr. God, Guts and Guns, a climate warming denier and disbeliever of the evolution of humans from other ancestral species (We now know some humans have some DNA of Neanderthal ancestry and yes, that is how it got there.), came here to tell us that U.S. military is a shadow of its former self, as reported in the Transcript (8/22). He is the quintessential congressman that President Eisenhower warned us about in his speech on the military-industrial complex.

Inhofe’s complaint about the military budget rings hollow since he did nothing to stop sequestration that is the result of his two wars on a tab and even cutting taxes while doing it. His choice for cuts under sequestration is food stamps along with Meals on Wheels and many other programs that help American families in trouble resulting from his recession. Obama did not cause the recession that caused twice as many people to be on food stamps. Even after his complaints of the military budget, he is in favor of having the U.S. default on loans in order to defund ACA, which would certainly hurt the military as well.

Inhofe wants to run for another term. He is a science-ignorant person and sometime Americans need to stop electing these people that are bound to make terrible decisions as he does. He is stuck in fossil fuel and cannot comprehend its danger or unwilling to try. He thinks the oil and gas industry can cure our energy needs but ignores the serious problem they create. He has profited well for his support of that industry and military suppliers.

We cannot compete in this world with science deniers as our leaders. We cannot properly educate our youth to be competitive with mangled science. If we do not educate them to a competitive level we will all suffer.

We are not making use of the science we have paid for but have let it go to other nations benefit. We will not profit from his reelection, either as Americans or Oklahomans.
