To anyone keeping track of the game clock, we are approaching the final minutes of the political game in Washington, D.C. The hyperbole is reaching unbelievable heights of incredulity as politicians of both sides try to outdo each other for TV time in their criticisms over the main issue on the table.
By far, the most extraordinary statement flowed unimpeded from the lips of a well-known, well-educated speaker: “Obamacare is worse than slavery.”
When I heard and saw this statement, the impact was not one of surprise, it was visceral to me. It illuminated the vast wasteland that is our education system when a “well-educated” professional could stand in front of a national microphone and make such a statement.
Is his next statement, “Obamacare is worse than genocide,” where does it all end? How could such a statement that flies in the face of history leave the lips of an educated person? What does the uneducated high school dropout think? Is this what education produces? Are these our leaders? Is this for real? OMG.
