Early start for OU-Tulsa game

Kickoff times set for Sooners' first three games

NORMAN — The kickoff time for Oklahoma’s Sept. 6 game at Tulsa was announced on Thursday. The meeting at the Golden Hurricane’s Chapman Stadium will begin at 11 a.m.

The game will be televised by ABC (KOCO locally), ESPN or ESPN2.

The Sooners are 7-0 all time against Tulsa since Bob Stoops became coach in 1999. The last meeting was OU’s 51-20 victory over the Golden Hurricane last season at Owen Field.

The trip to Tulsa will mark the Sooners’ first since a 62-21 victory at Chapman Stadium in 2007.

With Thursday’s announcement, OU’s first three games now have start times. Its Aug. 30 season opener against Louisiana Tech at Owen Field will kickoff at 6 p.m. The Sept. 13 home game against Tennessee will begin at 7 p.m.
