The Big 12 Conference released the 2014 football schedule Tuesday, giving Oklahoma the opportunity to announce its entire schedule for next season.
OU had previously set the dates for its non-conference home games against Louisiana Tech (Aug. 30) and Tennessee (Sept. 13) and road game at Tulsa (Sept. 20).
The Sooners will play nine conference games in succession next season, beginning with the league-opener Sept. 27 at West Virginia. The meeting with the Mountaineers will be the first of three straight Big 12 games away from Owen Field.
OU plays the first of two straight games in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex when it goes to TCU Oct. 4. The Sooners will renew the Red River Rivalry Oct. 11 against Texas at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
The only game at Owen Field in October follows Oct. 18 when Kansas State comes to Norman.
The Sooners could potentially close October with another Thursday night game. Their game at Iowa State will be Oct. 30 or Nov. 1.
The schedule is backloaded with home games with three of the last four games at Owen Field.
Baylor comes to Norman Nov. 8. The last road game is Nov. 15 at Texas Tech. The schedule concludes with home games against Kansas (Nov. 22) and Oklahoma State.
The Bedlam game will be the regular-season finale, but the Big 12 hasn’t decided whether the game will be Nov. 29 or Dec. 6.
