Sooners roll to 3-0 on European tour

ANTWERP, Belgium — Oklahoma rolled through Belgium in undefeated fashion Saturday after beating St. Jan.-Antwerp, 89-68, and improving to 3-0 on its five-game European tour.

Cameron Clark led the Sooners for the third straight game with 18 points Saturday. The senior forward added 11 rebounds. Ryan Spangler added 14 and Je’lon Hornbeak and Tyler Neal had 12 points apiece.

“I thought our guys battled that pretty well. We had good stretches in the ball game,” OU coach Lon Kruger said. “We need to continue to work on identifying what we want to do defensively and do it a little more consistently. But we had a lot of good play.”

With three wins in Belgium under their belt, the Sooners head to France for the final leg of their 11-day tour. They will spend today touring Normandy, site of the World War II D-Day Invasions, before going to Paris for their two final games on Wednesday and Thursday.

“That’ll be a great trip,” Kruger said. “We’ve played three games in three days and now we’ll get a couple of days off, one of them to travel to Normandy Beach. I know our guys are looking forward to that.”
