NORMAN — Oklahoma’s Mac James was named the Big 12 Conference’s baseball player of the week on Monday.
It was the first weekly award of the junior catcher/first baseman’s career and the first for the Sooners this season.
James hit .684 (13 for 19) last week as OU went 4-1 at during a five-game homestead against Abilene Christian and Rutgers. James hit safely in all five games to run his hitting streak to eight games. He totaled six runs scored and six RBIs.
The Sooners (11-5) are in action on Tuesday at 7:00 pm against Texas-Arlington at the Ballpark at Arlington.
