NORMAN — The sweep is complete.
No. 16 Oklahoma wrapped up a third-straight victory over Iowa State in the conference opener on Sunday, topping the Cyclones 11-0 in five innings for the third day in a row.
The win puts the Sooners (24-8) in first place in the Big 12 at 3-0, while the Cyclones fell to 0-3 in conference play and 17-14 overall. After two dominant offensive performances Friday and Saturday, the Sooners did the same on Sunday, using a 10-run fourth inning to take control of the game.
Freshman Macey Hatfield went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the way for OU, which has run-ruled Iowa State six straight times. Georgia Casey also added a game-high four RBIs, including a three-run triple in the game’s defining fourth inning.
OU will next play on Wednesday, when the Sooners face Oklahoma State at home in the first Bedlam contest of the season.
