NORMAN — The winning streak is over, but the Sooners are leaving Waco with what they came for.
No. 12 Baylor defeated OU 8-6 on Sunday, snapping a 14-game winning streak by the 13th-ranked Sooners. It was Oklahoma's first conference loss of the season, after the Sooners took the first two games of the series.
On Sunday, the Sooners took the ball out of the hands of ace Kelsey Stevens, who didn't start the game but picked up the loss in relief. Sophomore Kady Self went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Whitney Ellis had three RBIs.
The loss dropped OU to 32-9 and 9-1 in Big 12 play. The Sooners remain ahead of Texas, which has a 6-1 conference record. The two teams will meet next weekend in Norman for a three-game set.
