Still the same: Oklahoma State has different offensive coordinator since it last met the Sooners. Mike Yurcich took over after left to become head coach at Southern Miss.
The change in play-callers has not changed the Cowboys much, offensively, according to Sooner defensive coordinator Mike Stoops.
“Nothing structurally has changed a whole lot from last year to this year. For the past several years, their structures, formations and everything have been very similar to what you see and what we saw a year ago,” he said.
“I think they’re running the football better. Every offense runs better when you can run the football. The fullback and tight end has become a little more relevant in their offense over the last four or five weeks.”
Back to Stillwater, again: Due to a scheduling quirk in 2011 when the Big 12 became a 10-team league, Bedlam is in Stillwater for the third time in the last four years. OU’s seniors are not particularly happy they only got to play one Bedlam game at home. But they know what to expect at Pickens Stadium.
“Being somewhere, you already kind of get a gist of what’s going to happen, what’s going on. So, personally, I know me and some other guys, we know what to expect. We know what we’re going to get,” Colvin said. “They’re going to be rowdy. This is for all the marbles for them. But we’ve played some tough games away so it won’t be any different.”
