NORMAN — Oklahoma extended its shutout streak to seven games in a row on Sunday with a pair of run rule victories at the Judi Garman Classic.

The Sooners (27-1) defeated Penn State 8-0 in the first game of the day and wrapped up the weekend with a 9-0 win over Cal State Fullerton. The shutout streak matches a school record, and the scoreless innings streak reached 40. The Sooners also lowered their NCAAA-best team ERA to .67, having given up 17 earned runs in 177 innings.

Michelle Gascoigne and Keilani Ricketts picked up wins for OU, with Ricketts moving to 14-0 with her fourth consecutive shutout. She struck out 10 batters and gave up just two hits against Cal State Fullerton.

On offense, the Sooners got home runs from Lauren Chamberlain, Georgia Casey and Jessica Shults. For Chamberlain, it was her 16th home run of the season and 46th of her career, moving her more than halfway to the NCAA career mark of 90.

Next up for OU is a three-game set with No. 11 Louisville next weekend at Marita Hynes Field.
