Oklahoma had 19 players named to the Academic All-Big 12 team. OU had 11 first-team selections and eight second-team selections.
Senior center Gabe Ikard and senior defensive back Seth Carter were two of five Big 12 athletes who carry 4.0 grade point averages.
Ikard, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in multidisciplinary studies in May, is currently pursuing a second undergraduate degree at OU. The senior is a four-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection. Carter, also a senior, is majoring in energy management and is a first-time honoree.
Other first-team members include Blake Bell (communication), Grant Bothun (petroleum engineering), Kass Everett (multidisciplinary studies), Caleb Gastelum (sociology), Brannon Green (communication), Nick Hodgson (zoology), Trey Millard (psychology), Julian Wilson (communication) and Austin Woods (management).
Second-team members include Aaron Colvin (communication), Aaron Franklin (communication), Michael Hunnicutt (management), Cortez Johnson (multidisciplinary studies), P.L. Lindley (human relations), Durron Neal (communication), Londell Taylor (communication) and Eric Striker (political science).
First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
