The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that the body of a man was recovered dead after being missing for nearly two hours Wednesday evening at Lake Thunderbird.
The OHP also reported that a witness said the victim was unloading his boat when he slipped and fell on the ramp and his boat began to drift. He went into the water in an attempt to retrieve the boat, and that is when the apparent drowning occurred, according to the witness.
It also was reported that a witness on the scene tried to go in after the man but was unsuccessful.
The OHP reported that the man was a 58-year-old resident of Choctaw.
