NORMAN — Some parts of the University of Oklahoma campus were briefly without power Thursday afternoon.
Officials said the power was out at a substation that supplies the university’s power plant. A contractor working for Five G on an ODOT/City of Norman project accidentally nicked a utility line. The project is to upgrade traffic signals and other utility wiring.
The outage cut power to the OU Jimmie Austin Golf Course where the Women’s Amateur Public Links golf tourney was nearing the end of the fourth day of competition. Play continued.
