LUTHER, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey says a small earthquake has been recorded near Luther in central Oklahoma.
The USGS says the 2.5 magnitude quake was recorded at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday about three miles south of Luther. The area is about 20 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.
No injuries or damage are reported.
Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans and that damage doesn’t usually occur with earthquakes below magnitude 4.0.
