Oklahoma avoided the trap, but it flirted with disaster until the final minutes against TCU Wednesday night at Lloyd Noble Center.
The 25th-ranked Sooners (15-4, 4-2 Big 12) topped the Horned Frogs, 77-69, in as unconvincing a fashion as possible — pulling away in the final three minutes.
Je’lon Hornbeak scored four of his eight points in the final two minutes, and OU closed the game with an 11-3 run.
Buddy Hield lead the Sooners with 16 points. Cameron Clark added 15 and Ryan Spangler notched his eighth double-double with 13 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
Kyan Anderson led the Horned Frogs (9-9, 0-6) with a game-high 23 points. Amric Fields added 15. Karviar Shepard added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
