Oklahoma’s string of down-to-the-wire finishes ended Saturday. Its winning streak, however, grew with an 86-73 romp over Kansas State.
The victory lifted the Sooners to 20-7 and 9-5 in the Big 12 Conference. At the moment, they are tied with Iowa State for third place.
The final score wasn’t indicative of how well the Sooners controlled the game. They led by as many as 26 midway through the second and held a double-digit lead in the game’s final 30 minutes.
Buddy Hield scored 18 points and Isaiah Cousins added 17 to lead the Sooners.
Marcus Foster paced the Wildcats (18-9, 8-6 Big 12) with a game-high 21 points.
