The 17-year-old who allegedly shot and killed Nicholas Werner Williams, 20, in his Norman home was charged with first-degree murder Wednesday in Cleveland County District Court.
Myron Lomonte Burris, one of Williams’ neighbors, told police he broke into Williams' home with the intent to steal, but didn’t know anyone was home, according to the affidavit. He told police they got into a struggle when he ended up shooting Williams.
Williams suffered two gunshot wounds, one of which hit the femoral artery in his right leg, causing a fatal loss of blood, the affidavit said. Williams was able to call 911 for assistance after he was shot and made some statements to police before he lost consciousness and later died in the emergency room.
The shooting happened around 9 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Quorum Condominiums. It is the third homicide to occur in Norman this year.
