By Thursday night, Oklahoma fans began descending on downtown Chicago. The meeting with Notre Dame Saturday is proving to be one of the bigger road trips for OU fans in several years. How many will makeit it to Notre Dame Stadium Saturday in South Bend, Ind., isn’t clear.
However, spotting the OU fans Saturday shouldn’t be hard. Notre Dame has a “Green Out” planned for the 80,795-seat stadium. Guessing anyone wearing red or white is going to stick out.
The last time OU had a non-conference road game this highly anticipated was the Florida State game in 2011. The Sooners won that game and the players raved about the thrill of winning a big road game.
They’re hoping for the same thing to happen at Notre Dame, but OU coach Bob Stoops downplayed the potential impetus from winning Saturday.
“Oh, it was an awesome experience when you win. I'm not arguing that, but it goes away come Sunday because you got to go win again,” Stoops said.
