NORMAN — A source close to the Oklahoma baseball program has confirmed that Sooner coach Sunny Golloway interviewed for the same position at Auburn today.
Messages left on Golloway’s cell phone this afternoon were not returned.
Golloway, who first became OU’s head coach on an interim basis before having the “interim” title removed prior to the 2006 season, led the Sooners to a 43-21 record this past season, which ended in NCAA super regional play at LSU.
Along the way, the Sooners claimed their first Big 12 tournament championship since 1997.
Auburn has been looking for a new coach since John Pawlowski was fired last month.
