NORMAN — The 2013 University of Oklahoma’s Campus Campaign, which supports academic programs and scholarships for students, has topped more than $2 million. The campaign, which raised $2,163, 251, included an increase in the number of faculty, staff and retirees participating with a total of 2,083 donors on OU’s three campuses.
“The generosity of our own faculty and staff in giving back to the University is truly inspiring,” said OU President David L. Boren. “It is testimony to the fact that those who work at the University have a strong belief in its commitment to excellence.”
The campaign, which this year centered on the theme, “Giving from the Heart,” affords OU faculty, staff and retirees the opportunity to designate their gift for a specific need of the University and to participate through a one-time gift, payroll deduction, an on-line auction and a “Ghost” Marathon.
This marks the 21st year of OU’s Campus Campaign, which is directed by Beckie Tramel, assistant director of Annual Giving. Since 1993, more than $29.7 million has been raised through the Campus Campaign.
