NORMAN — An Oklahoma Highway Patrol plane crashed during a search for a missing man in Pottawatomie County Friday evening, according to multiple media outlets.
The OHP had responded to a wreck near Bethel Road and State Highway 9, and were attempting to find a man who had reportedly wandered off into the woods after wrecking his vehicle.
Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth told The Oklahoman that officers at the scene said the pilot was out of the plane and unconscious.
New9.com reported that the victim was located, and both the crash victim and the pilot, who was ejected and found a short distance from the plane’s wreckage, were transported to the hospital.
Conditions of the crash victim and the pilot were unknown at press time.
