Oklahoma center Gabe Ikard picked up his second first-team All-American honor this season when he selected for the 2013 AFCA FBS Coaches' All-America Team Wednesday.
With 53 Sooners being named to the team 62 times in history, Oklahoma has had the most players named to the AFCA Coaches’ All-America Team. Already named a Walter Camp First-Team All-American, Ikard has also won the Wuerffel Trophy and the Selmon Spirit Award this postseason. The senior has been named the Capital One Academic All-American of the Year, was a National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete and was a consensus All-Big 12 First Team pick by both the coaches and the Associated Press.
Ikard is the first OU player to be an All-American since wide receiver Ryan Broyles in 2011, the first Sooner offensive lineman to be an All-American since tackle Trent Williams in 2009 and the first OU center to be an All-American center since Vince Carter in 2004.
