The Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre presents the musical comedy, “The Drowsy Chaperone,” a show-within-a-show full of every cliché, gag and gimmick from musicals of the 1920s jazz age. Rated G, performances are Feb. 14 to 23 at the Rupel J. Jones Theatre.
Mozart’s whimsical “Così fan tutte” is the wry tale of two young men who place a bet on fidelity, putting the women they love to the test through deception and seduction. Rated PG, performances are March 6 to 9 at the Reynolds Performing Arts Center.
In Anton Chekhov’s tragicomic masterpiece, “The Cherry Orchard,” Madame Ranevskaya and her land-owning Russian family stand on the cusp of sweeping change, preferring fantasies and frivolity to hard choices and actions. Rated G, performances are April 4 to13 at the Weitzenhoffer Theatre.
The School of Dance presents an exciting mix of new choreography and works with Contemporary Dance Oklahoma. Highlights include Austin Hartel’s passionate and physical dance “Tears for Maria,” and his new work with design elements driving the creative process. Derrick Minter’s new explosive work “Radar” is in collaboration with sculptor Sohail Shehada. Rated G, performances are April 25 to 27 at the Rupel J. Jones Theatre.
